Blind Contour Art

When I was drawing I was thinking about the shape that I was drawing. None of the the drawings were easy but the teddy bear came out most realistic. Mum and Maggie were the hardest out of all of them. I learnt that you should concentrate on the subject when you are drawing. Next time I will spend more time doing the drawing and i will find an easier subject to draw. If you are wondering what blind contour art is, it is when you just look at the thing you are drawing and do not look at your paper, and do not take your pen or pencil off the paper.

This ia my Sisters teddy bear.
This is my pregnant foxy maggie.
This is a tree that Dad and I pruned.

This is drawing 1 of my Mum.
This is drawing 3 of my Mum.

This is drawing 2 of my Mum.

  1. This was a real neat challenge. I actually had a go too and it is much harder than what you think. I really like Malia's 3rd drawing of me. If you looks closly on the left you can see my ear and my hoop earing. I am looking forward to seeing some of the other learners art work.

  3. Cool art Malia! Not only are you having fun but you are also exercising your brain hugely doing that activity! I love that you did three of your mum and each are so different, and also that you thought about how you would do it differently next time. Tino pai!

  4. Awesome drawings Malia! There are some cool shapes inside your drawings. I can see that you have put in a lot of thought and concentration, and it is great to see you have drawn your mum 3 times. I wonder what your drawings would look like with a little bit of colour?
